United Announces 75th Anniversary Community Connections Tour
Free community events will celebrate the Southwest Kansas communities United serves and calls home
Dodge City, Kansas, May 21, 2026 — United is proud to announce its 75th Anniversary Community Connections Tour, a series of community events in late June and early July celebrating 75 years of serving Southwest Kansas with trusted connections, local service, and a continued commitment to the communities it serves and calls home.
In 1951, when the large provider at the time showed no interest in bringing telephone service to the rural areas surrounding Dodge City, a group of local farmers and community leaders decided to take matters into their own hands. By associating together and forming a not-for-profit cooperative, they built the foundation for what would become United. Seventy-five years later, United remains rooted in that same neighbor-serving-neighbor spirit, delivering fiber internet, wireless, voice, video, and broadband services across the region.
The Community Connections Tour will include giveaways and prizes, and free lunch while supplies last. Community members are encouraged to bring a neighbor or a friend and help celebrate this milestone anniversary.
“United’s story has always been about neighbors serving neighbors,” said Todd Houseman, United General Manager/CEO. “The impact United has made over the past 75 years exists because of the people who came before us and those carrying on the tradition today—local leaders, member-owners, and employees who believe rural communities deserve to be connected and who show up every day to make that vision a reality. We’re incredibly proud of our local roots, and we’re even more proud of the lasting impact those connections continue to make across Southwest Kansas. This tour helps us celebrate those who shaped our story over the past 75 years.”
