Dodge City, Kansas, 1-23-24 — United is thrilled to announce Friendship Feast Association of Dodge City as the recipient of its 2023 holiday giving initiative. Friendship Feast serves hot, nutritious meals every week, Monday through Friday, to those experiencing hunger and need in the community. United employees donated non-perishable food, clothing items, and monetary contributions, and many volunteered at Friendship Feast. United was proud to compensate these employees for their time volunteering. In addition, drop boxes were placed at both United locations in Dodge City to give customers the opportunity to donate non-perishable goods and have their donations matched by United. United matched all monetary donations as well as the value of the donated goods, resulting in a generous total donation of $3433.46.
“As a dedicated community partner deeply committed to the well-being of our community, United is proud to support the Friendship Feast and its mission,” said United General Manager/CEO Todd Houseman. “At United, we believe in helping our neighbors and strengthening our communities, and the United family has demonstrated incredible generosity through their donations of money, non-perishable goods, and time. Matching both employees’ and customers’ donations this holiday season allows United to double the impact of this support for those in need, and we are grateful for their generosity. Our annual holiday giving initiative reflects our core values, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with organizations like Friendship Feast to create a brighter future for all.”
On January 12, 2024, Administration Manager Mike Salmans and Administrative Assistant Mary Beth Helfrich presented Friendship Feast Kitchen Manager Sarah Speakman with boxes of donated goods and a $2931.73 check. “Friendship Feast would like to thank United for their services over the last month,” said Speakman. “We appreciate the help in every aspect of our ministry. Our guests really enjoyed meeting everyone who served the meals. The food and monetary donations will continue to help our mission of serving the hungry in our community.”
