Dodge City, Kansas, 12-28-22 —United is pleased to announce the Kansas Soldiers’ Home (KSH) at Fort Dodge as the 2022 recipient of its annual holiday giving program. The KSH offers independent living, assisted living, and long-term care for over 80 veterans.
United employees donated non-perishable food, clothing, and other household items that will be made available to veterans free of charge in the resident store. United also matched employees’ monetary donations for a total monetary donation of $2,000; these funds will be used to provide entertainment, activities, and outings for residents.

On December 21, 2022, Administration Manager Mike Salmans, Administrative Assistant Mary Beth Helfrich, and Marketing Coordinator Luke Bunker presented KSH Administrator Ron Friess with boxes of donated goods and a $2,000 check. “On behalf of all residents and staff, we are very grateful for the support of United!” said Friess.
If you would like to donate to the KSH, monetary donations that benefit all resident activities can be made to the “KSH Resident Benefit Fund.” KSH also accepts donations of non-perishable food items; cleaning, paper, and laundry products; and sweatpants and sweatshirts. All donations in any form can be dropped off at any time at the administrative offices located in Pershing Barracks.
